Many of us are touched by the images we see in Ukraine. We want to do something. This raises tax issues for entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs can claim tax deductions for promotional donations of money and/or goods that they make in connection with disasters abroad. Wars, such as the one in Ukraine, are also considered as such disasters.

Such a donation deduction is not limited in amount, but there must be a certain promotional effect. This means that the donation is and has to be seen as advertising for tax purposes.
However, no great demands are made on the advertising requirements here.
